Benevolent Fund |
The Benevolent Fund was set
up in Carrickfergus in 1991 to provide assistance to any current member who
had fallen on hardship through no fault of his own. The Fund assists those
who are ill or those families with special needs. This charity is subscribed
to by members only. |
|
Annual Carol Service |
Carrickfergus District Lodge
annually holds a Carol Service in December. This has proved
to be a popular event with families. Although members wear Orange
regalia there is no parade to the Service. All donations are
given to a charity with no connection to the Orange Institution.
In the year 2000 The Northern Ireland Children's Hospice benefited,
and last year (2009) it is the turn of the Shelter for Women,
Carrickfergus. The service was held in the Town Hall
on Sunday 13th December at 7.00 p.m.

Lord Enniskillen Memorial Orange
Orphan Society. |
The Lord Enniskillen Memorial Orange Orphan
Society has a magnificent record for helping boys and girls who have been
deprived of the love and the contribution of a parent, through death by
natural causes or as a result of continuing violence in Northern Ireland.
The Institution in 1888 decided that as a
principle, we should give financial assistance to the orphans of our
deceased brethren and sisters, and so the Lord Enniskillen Memorial Orange
Orphan Society was founded. The Society is named after a former Grand Master
of Ireland, the Earl of Enniskillen.
Today the Society continues to stress the
right of the child to develop his or her full potential within their family
and community and the importance of a Christian environment within the
Protestant faith. As an Institution we need to acknowledge that in decisions
affecting the child his or her needs must come first. |
|
The Right of the Child includes: |
- The right to an adequate standard of
living;
- The right to education;
- and The right of day to day care.

Orangewomen in Ireland, and whose spouse is deceased. Children under the
care of their Grandparents either of whom are members of the Loyal Orange
Institution of Ireland, or the Association of Loyal Orangewomen of Ireland.

Their Rights to be Met |
Ensuring the rights of a
child means meeting their needs and giving them and their families the
proper resources for their care. To meet these needs we as a Society must
continue to make our Grants realistic.
The Society cares about
children and young people and are reaching out in faith and love to meet our
commitments. Such a Christian response remains vital if we are to respond to
the needs of children, young people and families. |
|
Our Response: |
We have
given assistance to thousands since our formation in 1888. The need is as
strong today as it ever was, please help us to meet that need by;
- Thinking:
about the needs of children and young people and how you
can practically help these families.
- Praying:
for the children and young people we help and their
families.
- Giving:
please help us by giving a donation to our work.
"Inasmuch as ye have
done it onto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me"
